Coach Joel Chaitovicz
Coach Chaitovicz, better known as Coach "C", has been coaching volleyball for the past 13 years. He is entering his 6th season, as the Head Volleyball Coach of Sandalwood High School and second year as the Assistant Athletic Director. He spent seven seasons from 2009-2015 at the helm of the Wolfson Lady Pack Volleyball Team. At Wolfson (FHSAA Class 6A), he erased a 12-year absence and captured back-to-back district titles in 2013 and 2014. Through the years he has had 5 players sign volleyball scholarships and further their education. In total, he has been coaching volleyball for eight seasons.

His love for the sport of volleyball began back to his days as an Assistant Sports Information Director at his Alma Mater, The University of North Florida. From 2000-2002 he would have to take game stats by hand, however he quickly developed a desire to learn the game. He would spend time at the UNF volleyball practices gaining a perspective on a sport called volleyball. From there it grew as an ambition to one day coach the sport.

Coach "C", is a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. He is in the third year of serving as the FACA District 5 coordinator, which covers all of Duval and Nassau County. In 2013 he was selected as the Head Coach for the North All-Star Team. In total, he has coached three FACA District 5 MVP's who have participated in the annual All-Star game: 2013 Breona Pelham, 2015 Stephanie Nevarez-Rivera, and 2016 Rylei Vaughn.

During his career he has had several players selected to the Gateway Conference Team: 2013 Breona Pelham, 2014 Jordan Shivar,  2014 & 2015 Stephanie Nevarez-Rivera, 2016 & 2017 Mariela Berrios, 2017 Taylor Rouse, 2019 & 2020 Courtney McCrone.

He currently holds the position of  Graduation Coach at Sandalwood. He spent two seasons 2017-2018 as the JV Head Baseball Coach at Sandalwood. At Wolfson, he spent eight seasons (2009-2015) with their baseball program, the last three as the Head Coach

Coach "C" graduated from the UNF in 2001 with a Bachelors's in Health Administration. In 2009 he received a Masters in Sports Administration with a concentration in Coaching Theory from American Military University.
 
In his spare time, he enjoys collecting baseball cards and spending time with his son Josiah (9) and daughter Joselyn (8) whom you see often on the sidelines.

Coach Brittany Shackleford

Coach Brittany is an alumnus of Sandalwood and lettered in 4 sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer, and softball). Volleyball and Softball were her two favorite sports. She still holds the record for most Kills and Blocks in Volleyball today! She was selected for the Gateway Conference Team all 4 years of her playing Varsity Volleyball and Softball while she was a Saint.

 

Brittany graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing. She now runs her own business, Swell Studios, some of the services she offers are with businesses and their marketing efforts, manages social media, creates quality design, and is a photographer.

 

In her free time, you can find Brittany at the beach with her husband, Tyler, traveling, taking pictures, or sitting in a coffee shop enjoying a good coffee.

She loves the game of Volleyball and is excited to be joining the coaching staff!
